This morning was quite the snowy day!  We started off with book reports, poetry, SAT words, grammar, spelling, and Jonathon Livingston Seagull.  ANY ROUGH DRAFTS OF THE BUSINESS LETTER MUST BE EDITED BY TOMORROW TO TURN IN FINAL DRAFTS ON FRIDAY.  Some students have called the company to find the mailing address and recipient.

MATH HOMEWORK IS TO GET ON THE COMPUTER AND REVIEW DECIMALS TO THE THOUSANDTHS.  Look up "math decimal online games".  Concepts that will be on the test include:

• bar models
• expression rules ( ), x or divide, + or -
• finding n
• dividing into 3 digits
• equivalent fractions
• fraction of a whole/fraction of a fraction/multiplying fraction
• draw an angle
• equilateral triangles
• solids and nets
• area
• perimeter
• writing 100th places as a decimal
• writing 1000th places as a fraction in its simplest form
• naming decimals on a number line
• rounding decimals to 1 decimal place

This afternoon we worked like crazy on our puppets.  Students added hair, facial hair, hats, etc.  PLEASE SEND EXTRA TOILET PAPER ROLL TUBES.  ALSO, HAVE YOUR STUDENT BRING IN 1/2 YARD OF MATERIAL FOR THE BASIC COSTUME OF HIS/HER PUPPET.  We will not be able to create the clothing and attach arms until the basic material is here.  They are fun puppets.

For Writer's Workshop we began descriptive beginnings to a mystery.  The entire beginning, all the way to the problem is to be finished in rough draft form by next Monday.  These kids are writing a lot and have lots of ideas.

After P.E. we cleaned up (yeah!  We got another Meridian Mongoose paw)and read through the rough draft of the American Revolution puppet play.
